Dr (Mrs.) Temitope Olabisi Onuminya (nee Adeyemi) is a Molecular Plant Systematist and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Botany, University of Lagos. Her research interest is in the Family Sapindaceae, other higher plants, and medicinal plants in Africa. She graduated with a 1st Class (Honors) BSc Degree in 2006, graduated as the overall best PhD thesis winner in UNILAG in the 2010/2011 session, made a record of being the youngest PhD graduand produced ever in the 50 years history of the University of Lagos, and won the Best Thesis Award in Biological Science during the Nigerian Doctoral Thesis Award Scheme (NUDTAS) Ceremony in Abuja for the 2011 session. Dr. Onuminya has attended several pieces of training in Nigeria, the USA, UK, and South Africa, co-authored several scientific publications, and won several research grants. She is a Darwin-Scholar, LEAD Fellow, Fellow of the Linnaean Society of London (FLS) and Institute of Security Nigeria, a member of several professional bodies including the American Society of Plant Systematics, USA, Botanical Society of America, Botanical Society of Nigeria, and so on. She was an elected Member of the University of Lagos Senate (2018-2020).
