Dr Toyin Olowogbon is a Lead Agricultural Economist at the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Empowerment. Dr Olowogbon holds master’s and PhD degrees in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He also holds a professional postgraduate diploma in teaching in higher education from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He has 10 years of professional experience in programs, projects, and research in agricultural economics and related social sciences. He has ample hands-on-experience in experimental economics designing and analysing impact evaluations with a bias for agricultural, rural development, development economics, and social protection interventions. In the last 5 years, Dr Olowogbon has focused on engaging experimental and quasi-experimental methods for his research engagements including randomized control trials; the difference in difference (DID) among others. He is also skillful in conducting surveys and using quantitative and qualitative research methods. He has published widely in local and international academic outlets. He is also a referee to several reputable journals including the World Development Journal; International Journal of Development Issues; and Journal of Agricultural Safety and Health among others. He is a 2019 Winner of Young African Innovators (West Africa) Award by Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) and also a 2019 Winner YALI of Alumni Innovative Fund (YAIF) by USAID.
