Brief Biography (English)

Dr Olugbemi T Olaniyan PhD, an Embryologist and Physiologist in IVF laboratory, the Comforters Place Fertility Clinic (TCP) and Department of Physiology, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Edo University, Iyamho, Nigeria. Studied BSc Human physiology at the University of Ilorin (Neuroscience), received a Master's degree in 2011 at the prestigious University of Ibadan with the best result in his set (Endocrine metabolism). Since 2011 has been working in the field of reproduction and infertility (Hypothalamic – Pituitary – Gonadal Axis) treatment with assisted reproductive technologies and natural products, gaining unique experience in standard chromosome analysis, molecular biology, and clinical embryology. In 2014 entered the International school of embryology, India as a junior embryologist under the tutelage of Dr V.M Thomas, ‘ICSI Specialist’. Trained in clinical and molecular embryology, stem cell biotechnology. (Stem Cell Banking and Biotechnology: Life Cell International 26, Vandalur, Kelambakkam, Keelakottaiyur, Chennai- India. At the same time working with the University as a Physiologist/Researcher. Since 2015 as an embryologist at The Comforters Place Fertility Clinic ‘TCP’ with Dr. Olubunmi Ladipo, Chief consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology, National Hospital, Abuja, Nigeria. Engaged in active research work, Academic teacher and Hospital practitioner, being an author in more than 30 scientific papers and many conference reports. In 2017 successfully defended PhD thesis and soon after gained PhD degree in Physiology and Developmental programming (Reproductive developmental programming) Department of Physiology, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. In 2019, joined the Department of Physiology, Universidad de Granada, Spain under Coimbra Fellowship for a Postdoctoral short stay to study mitochondrial physiology in health and diseases in Professor Luis Carlos Lopez Laboratory using different models such as Zebrafish, CoQ enzyme deficient mice, NDUFS4 (Complex 1 Deficient mice) and human skin fibroblast.
