Dr Stephen Okoboi is a Public Health Epidemiologist who has dedicated himself to HIV prevention and implementation of scientific research that leads directly to improvements to the health of people in developing countries. My work findings have influenced policy in ART differentiated delivery care models that have improved retention and treatment outcomes among ART patients. His current work focuses on sexual behaviour, retention, and STI among experienced patients on ART, and HIV self- testing using peer networks; including evaluating SMS as an Incentive to adhere to ART among adolescents. He is also interested in health economic evaluation and outcome research. He has gained extensive research leadership, research administration, compliance, and contracts management skills while working as a Research Manager and as the Deputy Head of Research at the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) in Kampala, Uganda, an East African research center of excellence. He completed his PhD in Medical Sciences- Epidemiology at University of Antwerp in Belgium.
