Brief Biography (English)

Oluwafemi Adeleke Ojo, PhD., is a Lecturer at the Department of Biochemistry, College of Pure and Applied Sciences, Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Nigeria. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry at Babcock University, Ilishan, Ogun State, his Master's degree in Biochemistry at Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, and his PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara state. His research interests and focus are in areas relating to phytomedicine, natural products, biochemical toxicology, and biotechnology. His PhD. thesis was supervised by Prof. M. T. Yakubu, which involved antidiabetic activity and safety assessment of the fractions of Trichilia prieureana leaf in Wistar rats. Dr. Ojo has published over 100 scientific articles in peer-review journals, one chapter in a book, and presented over 10 papers at international and national conferences. He is an editorial board member of Journal of Medicinal Plants for Economic Development in South Africa and review manuscripts for various scientific journals. He has received various awards such as the Best undergraduate students at Babcock University 2006/2010, Professor Ishola Adamson Prize for the best graduating student in Chemical and Environmental Sciences, Babcock University, Ilishan, Nigeria 2006/2010. In 2017, he received an “Award impact Award” in recognition of his contribution to publishing in Scopus Indexed Journals at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria. Recently, he was rated among the Top 500 Nigeria Authors by Scival (2014-2019) as the “76th author” in Nigeria. He is a member of different professional bodies including the Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Nigeria, and American Chemical Society, USA.
