Brief Biography (English)

Professor Babatunde Ogunsina began his career in 1995 as a Factory Manager in a Cashewnut Processing Industry, Ibadan. Later he was an Agricultural Officer in local government service until 2004 when he joined Obafemi Awolowo University. His research interest focuses on postharvest engineering; especially processing and value addition to some underutilized tropical crops, deformation mechanics, and cracking of edible nuts. With over twenty (25 years) experience in the industry, civil service, and academia, he is an active member of the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural EngineersWest African Society of Agricultural Engineers, and Pan African Society for Agricultural Engineering, with collaborations in Nigeria and abroad. He has facilitated funding worth over $70,000 for R&D, training, and collaborations at different stages of his career. He got the MASHAV Scholarship to Israel twice in the years 2006 and 2011. Babatunde is a highly motivated and charismatic scholar with a rare passion for mentorship, identifying great potentials, in his mentees. Being widely traveled, he has participated in many multidisciplinary projects and international conferences. He is respected as a reviewer for many reputable local and international journals and has four (4) Theses plus over sixty (60) reputable articles in high impact journals and refereed conference proceedings.
