Brief Biography (English)
- Dr Clement Ogunkunle Lectures in the Department of Plant Biology at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He specializes in Plant Ecology and Environmental Science with a special focus on nanoremediation, phytoremediation and environmental biomonitoring. Dr Ogunkunle has held several positions in the Department and the University including Student Advisor, Departmental Examination Officer and Departmental Postgraduate Coordinator (MSc and PhD). His current research focus is on the use of nanotechnology to ameliorate abiotic stress in food crops and also to reduce heavy metal toxicity in agricultural soils. He is a Member of the Botanical Society of Nigeria (BOSON), the International Phytotechnology Society (IPS), the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Contamination (SETAC-AF), and a Fellow of the African Scientific Institute (ASI). Dr Ogunkunle has won international academic awards which include The World Academy of Science (TWAS)-DFG Fellowship (2016) to Bergische Universitat Wuppertal, Germany and Delta X Synchrotron Radiation Facility, Germany, the Association of Commonwealth Universities Fellowship (2014) and Thailand International Development Award (2014) to the Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), Bangkok, Thailand.
