Brief Biography (English)

Dr Mary Ogundiran is an Associate Professor in Analytical/Environmental Unit, Department of Chemistry, University of Ibadan,  Nigeria. She obtained a Bachelor of Education in Education and Chemistry/Physics with Second Class Honours (Upper Divisions), Master of Science (MSc) in Analytical Chemistry with a PhD grade, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Analytical/Environmental Chemistry, all from University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Dr Ogundiran won the ATES Prize-1990/91 for the best final year student in Teacher Education, University of Ibadan. In 2009, she was selected as the Young researcher at the 59th Meeting of Nobel Laureates dedicated to Chemistry in Lindau, Germany. She had Postdoctoral training at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. She was a TWAS-DFG Research Fellow at the Institute of Soil Science and Soil Conservation, Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany. Research Fellow, CV Raman International Fellowship for African Researchers at the National Metallurgical Laboratory, (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research), Jamshedpur, India. Dr Ogundiran’s research pursuits include assessment and remediation of contaminated soil, waste management, and Geopolymer for waste management, building, and construction. She has 19 years of University teaching experience. She has supervised quite a number of B.Sc. and M.Sc. students, supervised 3 PhD students, 1 MPhil student and currently supervising 5 PhD students. She has published 43 research papers in learned journals, conference proceedings, and edited books.
