Dr Emmanuel Temiotan Ogbomida is the current Director of Research, Innovation and Consultancy at The Copperbelt University in Zambia. He is also an Academic Researcher at the National Centre for Energy and Environment (Energy Commission of Nigeria), University of Benin, Nigeria. Dr Ogbomida is an Ecotoxicologist and Environmental Risk Assessor/Consultant heading the Department of Ecotoxicology and Environmental Forensics. His current research focuses on the analysis of the action of chemicals in the environment, the predictability and assessment of the effect of mixture of compounds and also establishing methods for measuring bioanalytical processes. Dr Ogbomida is evaluating novel, emerging and future ecological and health risks posed by persistent organic pollutants, heavy metals and other chemical contaminants in the natural environment. He undertakes field and laboratory-based studies and applies various research tools and techniques ranging from histology and molecular bioassays to in vivo assays. Thus, he believes that linking cell biology and environmental toxicology is a powerful combination for deriving information regarding routes and risks of exposure of animals and humans to toxic substances and for developing strategies to protect the ecosystem and sustain natural resources. Dr Ogbomida has performed research in both, academia, industries and research institutes, often as part of consultancy and collaborations between various organizations He is also currently exploring entrepreneurial opportunities in municipal waste management among youths through training, coaching and mentoring to create a for-profit business, job creation, and community development for the purpose of improving environmental integrity. Dr Ogbomida is a renewable energy expert and has demonstrated history of working in the renewables and environment industry.
