Alfred Ofori Agyemang holds an MPhil Pharmacognosy degree as well as a BSc Herbal Medicine degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He also has a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Pharmacy Technology from the Kumasi Technical University, Ashanti, Ghana. Mr Agyemang worked at the Upper West Regional Hospital as Medical Herbalist for 8 years where he later became the Head of the Herbal Medicine Department. Currently, he is working as Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute of Traditional and Alternative Medicine (ITAM) at the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Ghana. His interest is in standardization and quality assessment of natural products, especially the safety and effectiveness of herbal products used in the treatment and management of liver diseases, snakebites and other neglected tropical diseases. Mr Agyemang researches the contribution of Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine (TCAM) practices on health and quality of life.
