Dr Oludare Johnson Odejobi's Research focus is in the area of applied thermodynamics-energy integration, exergy analyses and process development. His research activities have addressed issues relating to the identification of improvement potential in Nigerian refineries using Pinch Technology. Also, the principles of exergy and exergoeconomic analyses have been applied to identify improvement potential in Thermal Power Plant, Crude Oil Refining and other Chemical Industry Processes.
Dr Odejobi has studied the physicochemical and thermal properties of Nigerian rice with a view to developing a process for economic processing to meet the growing local demand. In his efforts to contribute to biodiesel production for sustainable energy and environment, he has studied the modelling and optimization of jatropha supply chain for sustainable biodiesel production in Nigeria.
In addition to chemical process analysis and optimization, Dr Odejobi has Designed an effective anaerobic digester for treatment and biogas generation from agricultural wastes. He has Studied the effects of incorporation of heat transfer enhancement devices in the heat exchanger and their implications in terms of capital and energy costs and energy savings.
Dr Odejobi is currently carrying out Research on the management of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) for health and environmental sustainability, production of valuable chemicals and fuel oil through pyrolysis.
