Dr Henry Chinedu Obasi is a Lecturer at the Department, Polymer and Textile Engineering, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Nigeria. He joined the university as a graduate assistant in 2005. He now serves as an Associate Professor and Head, Department of Polymer and Textile Engineering where he enjoys balancing his professional time between teaching and mentoring, nurturing scientists and engineers and as well working on scientific research projects. He won the World Academy Science (TWAS) postdoctoral fellowship. He completed his postdoctoral study at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre in Biomedical Materials, CUI, Islamabad, Lahore Campus, in 2016. He teaches a variety of courses each year at the undergraduate and graduate levels covering both polymer and textile fields. He is a faculty member at the World Bank-funded Africa Centre of Excellence in Future Energies and Electrochemical Systems (ACE-FUELS), FUTO. His research interests cover biobased polymer composites, rubber blends, biomaterials for tissue engineering, antimicrobial polymer blends. He has over 50 published research articles in the field of polymer science and engineering to his credit.
