Godwin Obande is a Lecturer and Researcher with the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa state in Nigeria, where he Teaches undergraduate students and conducts Research.
He is currently studying for a PhD in Medical Microbiology at the Universiti Sains Malaysia, aided by a PhD grant from the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Mr Obande's research interests cover medical bacteriology, antimicrobial resistance, development of diagnostic assays for infectious diseases of microbial origin, and public health. His current research is focused on the development of isothermal amplification assays for the detection and differentiation of clinical Acinetobacter species.
He is a Member of some scientific bodies, including the Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM), the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), the International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) and the British Society for Parasitology (BSP) among others.
