Dr. Obafemi is a seasoned university researcher and teacher, who works at the University of Ilorin, South-West Nigeria. He enjoys mentoring the younger generation to take up leadership roles. He specializes in the area of Agro-product Processing and Food Engineering in which he obtained his doctorate in the year 2020. He has skills in the design of food equipment and machinery, modelling and optimization of food processes, and siting of food processing plants. During his university days as an undergraduate, he took up a leadership role and functioned as the departmental president of the prestigious Agricultural Engineering Students' Association, 2007-2008. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Nigeria, a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. He is presently on a research fellowship at the Department of Food Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology.
