Brief Biography (English)

Dr Daniel Nyanganyura is an Atmospheric Physicist with a special interest in boundary layer physics and air pollutants transport modelling, and how the pollutants impact on human health, the environment and climate. He has vested interest in issues that promote inter-disciplinary research collaboration as well as bridge and foster the science-policy interface.

Dr Nyanganyura holds a PhD in Atmospheric Physics, an MSc in Agricultural Meteorology, and a BSc 4th Year Honours in Physics from the University of Zimbabwe; and a Licentiate Degree in Education in the Specialty of Physics and Astronomy from Pedagogical University Enrique José Varona, Havana, Cuba.

He is the current Regional Director for the International Science Council Regional Office for Africa. Dr Nyanganyura has worked as a Programme Specialist for Physics, Mathematics, and Engineering Sciences at the International Science Council Regional Office for Africa; an air pollution Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany; a Physics Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe; an Advanced Level Physics and Computer Science Teacher.

He is a Member of the South African Institute of Physics, the South African Society for Atmospheric Sciences, and the Air Pollution Information Network for Africa.
