Professor Cyril Nwangburuka was born in a little town in Abia State, from the south Eastern part of Nigeria. He obtained his primary education from Community Primary School Abayi Umucham in Aba. He followed up with his Secondary education and completed in 1986 from Ngwa High School Aba. Later, he obtained his BSc degree in Botany from the University of Port Harcourt. He proceeded to serve his country for one year under the National Youth Service Coup programme at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture(IITA) in 1992 and later worked in International Institute of Tropical Agriculture(IITA) as a research supervisor until 1996 at the research management division. In 1998, he obtained his MSc in Environmental Biology (Genetics) from the University of Ibadan and his PhD in plant Breeding from the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta in 2010. In 1999, he was employed as an Assistant Lecturer in Babcock University, he has grown since then to the rank of Professor in the same Institution. He also had a 2 years Postdoctoral fellowship experience at the Agriculture Research Council-Institute for Soil, Climate and Water(ARC-ISCW) Pretoria, South Africa. He also served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs at the Adventist University of West Africa in 2018. Presently, he serve as the Dean of the School of Science and Technology at Babcock University.
