Dr Jihène Nouairi is a junior researcher, post-doc, and external investigator at the Universities of Sfax (Tunisia) and Porto (Portugal). She is author of many research papers about the study of Zn-Pb ore tailings and their potential in cement technology, and the impact of mine wastes on ecosystems. Her current research is about the evaluation of the ecotoxicity and risk assessment of mine wastes on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.
She wrote her PhD on the impact of Tunisian mine wastes on the environment. During her multiple stays in European laboratories (France, Portugal and Italy), she succeeded in formulating Sustainable construction materials from the sterile wastes. She studied in Sfax (Tunisia) and Le Mans (France), obtaining an MSc. in Environmental Sciences and Development focusing on Climate change and Extreme Events Recorded in the Mediterranean region and a Bachelor's degree in Earth and Universe where she was 2009/2010 Head of promotion.
Having lived on both sides of the Mediterranean helped her learn several languages amongst which Spanish and Portuguese which link directly to his research interests in the areas of international climate policy. In pursuing these interests, Jihène has learned and applied both qualitative and quantitative methodologies: combining case study analysis, interview material, with regression analysis and fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA).
