Dr Gloria Ihuoma Ndukwe is an organic chemist with a research interest in isolation and application of plant-based natural products. She is dedicated to research in natural product chemistry and the innovative teaching of the subject to undergraduates and graduate students especially in Rivers State University, Nigeria where she currently serves as a teaching and research staff. Gloria currently has publications in well-received scholarly local and international journals, several unpublished works, and increasing visibility as a presenter of papers in scientific fora.
She has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in pure chemistry and applied organic chemistry respectively from the Department of Chemistry, University of Jos, Nigeria, a doctorate in organic chemistry from the University of Port Harcourt (with a six months benchwork at the Chemistry Department at Walter Sisulu University in South Africa under Professor Adebola O. Oyedeji) and an MBA from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. Gloria is a distinguished member of several organizations including the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON), the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), and the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON). Gloria is happily married to Alozie Chinke Echeonwu and lives in Nigeria with her family.
