Dr Zondi Nate completed his National Diploma in analytical chemistry, Bachelor of Technology in chemistry, and a master's degree in chemistry at the Vaal University of Technology. He then obtained his PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry at the University of KwaZulu Natal. Dr Nate's postgraduate studies were funded by the National Research Foundation of South Africa (NRF-SA). His research focus is on developing different synthesis strategies for metal and metal oxide nanoparticles, metal-organic frameworks, carbon nanotubes, and polymer nanofibers. He also focuses on the application of these mentioned nanomaterials in diagnostic tools such as electrochemical sensors and biosensors. He has published his research findings in several peer-reviewed journals and has presented his work at national and international conferences.
