Brief Biography (English)

Dr Elizabeth Naluminsa is a female Ugandan astronomer, based in South Africa. Her interest in astronomy developed at an early age through books that she read as a child. She dreamt of one day becoming an astronomer and studying the mysteries of the universe. In 2019, she graduated with a PhD in Astronomy from the University of Cape Town. Her research focuses on large scale star formation in galaxies, making use of multi wavelength data. Her interests and expertise span a wide range of aspects including; pipeline building, software development, instrumentation, science communication and teaching. Her mission is to make science attainable, penetrable and relatable to everyone.
