Dr. Winifred Mutuku graduated with a PhD in mathematical modelling and computation of nanofluids in 2014. She is currently a senior lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science at Kenyatta University. She is the head of the board for postgraduate studies at the department. She is a member of the Strategic Information/Technical Working Group (SI/TWG) member for the National AIDS Control Council (NACC), where her strength a mathematical modeller is key in developing the Kenya National HIV estimates as well as the Global AIDS monitoring report generation. She has been engaged as an expert by the NACC to develop Health and HIV impact assessment tool for infrastructure projects. She is currently undertaking a project on estimating new HIV cases under a fellowship awarded by the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme (KWTRP). She has reviewed a number of journal articles for national and international journals. Based on her previous research work, experience, and skills acquired in several workshops, she has the skills required in the implementation of the current project. She is diligent, a team leader, visionary, and good coordination skills, characteristics that are key in the role of Principal Investigator.
