Stanslaus Kiilu Musyoki is a holder of Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences from Jomo Kenyatta University Of Agriculture And Technology (JKUAT) 2005, Master of Science in Immunology from Moi University 2010 and PhD in Medical Immunology from Maseno University 2016. Musyoki has done several courses; including Qualitative research Methods; Certificate in Foundations of Bioethics; Bioinformatics (EANBIT); Clinical Ethics; Operational Research; Bio risk Management; Laboratory Management; Introduction to R course and Certificate in HIV/AIDS Management among others. In addition, he has also attended many workshops and short trainings. He is a professional and a technical expert in advanced molecular techniques including flow cytometry, DNA/RNA sequencing, Microscopy, antimicrobial resistance and immunology. He is also a registered member of several professional bodies including the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB). Musyoki currently works at Kisii University as a senior lecturer and Chairman of Medical Laboratory Sciences Department and a senate member. He is also an interim Ethical Review Committee member in the University as from February 2019 to date. At Kisii University, he has also served in senate Adhoc and conference committees among others. Musyoki has acquired over 15 years of uninterrupted hands-on experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in clinical care, researcher and academician; in consultancy and in leadership. During this time, Musyoki played a key role in conceptualizing and actualizing of several courses both in Kisii University and other institutions he had served earlier. He spearheaded Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) curriculum & course development at Kisii University, accreditation of the course by both Commission of University Education (CUE) and the regulatory body (K.M.L.T.T.B) and the Establishment MLS Department as the founder chairman of the department. Similarly, he spearheaded the establishment of part time-training of MLS at Mt. Kenya University.
Musyoki is an experienced individual in clinical laboratory diagnostic systems. He has demonstrated that through his competitive abilities at Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital (MTRH) by being hands-on and providing leadership at the institution. The foundation of quality laboratory medicine at MTRH was laid based on ISO 9001:2008, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 15189: 2012 quality Systems of which he was a key player when he worked with the institution. Similarly at Kisii Teaching & Referral hospital, a collaborator institution of Kisii University has also provided him with more and good experience in the process of attaining ISO 151:89:2012 quality standards. Musyoki is also an accomplished scholar with a proven track record in research as demonstrated by his several publications in conferences & peer review journals, mentoring of masters and PhD students, scholarships, awards and research grants. He has been involved in epidemiologic studies and surveillance, clinical research, laboratory, and operations research on infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, and environmental health which have led to a better understanding of disease burden, risk factors, and effective interventions to influence policy. Therefore; Musyoki has proved to be a very hardworking individual who strives to achieve the best in all areas, always eager to learn new skills and advance his career in clinical care, research and academics. His career goal is to gain a role which allows him to further his knowledge and skills, as well as increased responsibility in innovation in whatever capacity.
