Dr Nicholas Musyoka is a Research Group Leader and Principal Research Scientist at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa. He holds a PhD degree in Chemistry and currently pursuing a Masters in Technology and Innovation Management (MTIM). He is also a Future Leaders – African Independent Research (FLAIR) Fellow, a C-rated National Research Foundation (NRF) scientist, an affiliate of the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) and a registered member of the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP). He is currently championing several multidisciplinary projects such as; 1) CO2 capture and utilisation 2) materials-based gas storage technology development focusing on carbons, MOFs and their composites, 3) gas separation/purification and 4) recycling sub-group of projects that include Li-ion battery recycling, recycling of multi-layered ‘Tetra-Pak’ material and valorisation of waste industry by-products.
