Dr Muna Mohammed Musnad has more than 20 years’ experience as a Researcher/Senior Researcher at UNESCO Chair in Water Resources - Omdurman Islamic University and more than 9 years as a Consultant at KIMA Consultancy.
She was and is still involved in many local, regional and international Research projects such as Flood Risk Mapping, which is a joint project between UNESCO Chair in Water Resources - Sudan and RIVERSIDE Company (USA) under the umbrella of ENTRO-NBI.
Dr Musnad is a Coordinator and Secretariat of the Integrated Water Resources Management Network-Sudan (IWRMNet-SD). She attended several Training/Interactive workshops in the field of Water Diplomacy and she is a key participant in the Women in Water Diplomacy in the Nile Network (WIN).
Dr Musnad also worked as a Researcher and Coordinator for the Nile Basin Capacity Building Network-River Engineering Project (NBCBN-RE). She gained Experience in Visual MODFLOW, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and GIS and worked as Modeler in several research topics and projects such as: A Decision Support System for Groundwater Management of Arusha Aquifer, Tanzania; Shallow Water Problems Evaluation in Beit Elmal Area, Sudan; Baggara Basin Management Project.
Dr Musnad also gained Experience in the field of water quality management and water supply in addition to the routine works at UNESCO Chair in Water Resources. She is also a Lecturer at the MSc Program held by UNESCO Chair in Environmental Engineering - Omdurman Islamic University.
