Dr Patricia Munseri is a Physician working in the Department of Internal Medicine at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences with more than 15 years’ experience of attending to in and out patients at the Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) and the MUHAS Academic Medical Center (MAMC).
Dr Munseri is a medical educator teaching Internal Medicine to undergraduate and post graduate scholars of the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences for more than 15 years and has been teaching and mentoring International scholars in clinical teaching, Internal Medicine and research mainly in infectious diseases. Her research interest: Tuberculosis and HIV epidemiology, diagnostics and management. Her additional research interests are in Stroke, hypertension and diabetes prevention. She has coordinated 3 HIV vaccine clinical trials and was a Principal Investigator to one HIV vaccine trial.
Dr Munseri has worked collaboratively with international research groups including the Karolinska Institutet, University of Munich, Medical Research Council of the UK, Imperial College, the United States Military HIV Research Program (MHRP), Dartmouth College, University of California San Francisco, the Medical Research council in Uganda, the Uganda Virological Research Institute, Centro de Investigação e Treino em Saúde da Polana Caniço (CISPOC) Mozambique, Mbeya Medical Research Council and South African Medical Council in Durban.
