Brief Biography (English)

Dr Chanelle Mulopo is a Public Health Transdisciplinary Researcher and Lecturer with a PhD in Public Health and interdisciplinary training in Psychology, Health Promotion, and Public Health. She has over 10 years of experience in public health research, university teaching, postgraduate supervision, and multidisciplinary research collaboration. Dr Mulopo has led and contributed to multidisciplinary national and international research programmes funded by organisations including the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), Wellcome Trust, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the British Academy. Her research focuses on climate change and health, mental health, health systems and policy, and adolescent sexual and reproductive health, with expertise in implementation science, mixed-methods research, evidence synthesis, and community-engaged research. She has published 14 peer-reviewed journal articles in international journals, taught undergraduate modules in Introduction to Psychology and Introduction to Social Science Research in Psychology, co-convened and taught the Master of Public Health Qualitative Research Methods module, supervised over 20 Honours students, graduated four Master's students, and currently supervises one Master's and one PhD student. Dr Mulopo is committed to advancing socially responsive public health teaching, interdisciplinary research, and community-engaged scholarship that informs policy, strengthens health systems, and improves health outcomes across sub-Saharan Africa.
