Brief Biography (English)

Basil Mugonola is a senior lecturer in the Department of Rural Development and Agribusiness in the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment at Gulu University. Basil is the current head of the department and coordinator of the MSc. Agri-Enterprise Development-a program jointly implemented by Gulu and Egerton Universities. By training, Basil obtained a BSc. Agriculture (Hons) Makerere University, MSc. Agricultural Economics from Makerere University, Uganda, and a PhD in Bio-Sciences Engineering with a specialty in Agricultural and Environmental Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.

Basil is a member of the Uganda Agricultural Economics Association and Action Research Fellow of the Partnership Resource Center of the Rotterdam School of Management, Netherlands, he has research interests in agri-value chains, impact evaluation, and theory of change for Agri-partnerships, markers for change of project interventions, the efficiency of agribusiness production and marketing systems. Basil completed postdoctoral research (2015-2017) on agri-partnerships with the Partnership Resource center (PrC) at the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) and the International Fertilizer Development Centre (IFDC).
