Dr Shadreck Muchaku is an adjunct professor at the University of Venda. He holds a PhD in Rural Development, a Master of Public Management and Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, all from the University of Venda, South Africa. At the University of Fort Hare, his research work covers various areas including water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and climate-smart agriculture. Previously, Dr Muchaku was a technical expert for the Innovation Champions for Local Economic Development Project (IC4LED) at the University of Venda and held a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of the Free State. He has extensive teaching experience and has taught courses in research methods, development studies, conflict resolution, governance and international relations. He has also successfully supervised students at postgraduate level. Dr Muchaku's research interests cover a wide range of topics, including indigenous knowledge systems, dual governance structures, water and sanitation, climate change, regional health governance, local health priorities, and conflict resolution. He has authored and co-authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed and internationally accredited journals.
