Brief Biography (English)

Dr Peter Mose obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Education, specializing in English and Literature, at Maseno University in Kenya. He then taught English and Literature in high school before obtaining a Master's of Arts in English and Linguistics from Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya.

Dr Mose then joined the South Eastern Kenya University as a Language and Linguistics Lecturer before proceeding to Rhodes University, South Africa, for a PhD. He obtained a PhD in African Languages (2016) specializing in language literacies, bi/multilingualism, and language planning. In 2016-2017, Dr Mose worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Rhodes University before resuming his duties as a Language and Linguistics Lecturer at the South Eastern Kenya University.

So far, he has Attended 15 International Conferences in Africa (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Kenya), New Zealand, and America. Dr Mose has Published 9 Articles in Peer-Refereed Journals - Published with the Taylor and Francis Group, Emerald, and the Nordic Journal of African Studies. These Publications are in addition to 9 Books used at both primary and high schools in Kenya.

Other academic related duties include Editing/Proofreading of postgraduate theses, as well as Reviewing Articles for Publication with the South African Journal of African Languages (SAJAL) and Language and Education (both Published with Taylor and Francis). Further to that, Dr Mose is Coordinating a Book Chapter on "Anatomy of an endangered language" to be Published by the Centre for Advanced Study of African Society (CASAS) in Cape Town, among other stand-alone projects in literacies, bilingualism, and language planning.
