Brief Biography (English)

Ebrahim Momoniat is Professor of Applied Mathematics in the Department of Pure and Applied Mathematics at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). He was Assistant Dean Research and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Science at University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). Momoniat’s research interests lay in several areas with differential equations that model thin film fluid flow at the center of these interests. These differential equations are highly nonlinear, degenerate and require special analytical and numerical methods for their solution. He has published over 100 research articles and is B-rated by the National Research Foundation (NRF) and has made a significant contribution to the advancement of science through his contribution to the mathematical modelling of thin-film flow problems. He is a Member of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of South Africa (RSSAf).
