Prof Mohammad Ardekani Moghimi obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria in 2017. After years of academic and industrial engineering experiences, he currently serves as Associate Professor of Clean Energy Technologies at Staffordshire University, UK, as well as Extraordinary Lecturer at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
Since 2013 Prof Moghimi has been actively involved in the Design and Optimization of new technologies and devices in the fields of renewable energy (solar thermal technologies in particular), thermal energy storage, and multiphase-based (including nanofluid) heat sinks. In that regard, he has Published 52 articles in top peer-reviewed journals and prestigious conference proceedings, one book, two book chapters and a webinar in collaboration with different research institutes and companies around the world including: Imperial College London (UK), University of Nottingham (UK), DLR-Institute of Solar Research (Germany), SOLASTOR (Australia), University of Clarkson (USA), National Technical University of Athens (Greece), University of Pretoria (South Africa), etc.
In addition to those academic experiences, he has gained more than 4 years of Industrial Experiences in Designs and Simulations of equipment in different plants (Solar thermal, Oil, Gas and Petrochemical plants). He was involved in different industrial projects and conducted various Research projects for R&D departments of different international companies e.g. DLR-Institute of Solar Research (Germany), SOLASTOR (Australia), etc.
Prof Moghimi's scientific activities earned him the international Green Talent Award of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and rated him as Promising Young Researcher (Y2 rating) by National Research Foundation, South Africa. He is also a Fellow or Member of various professional institutes and societies, such as the Higher Education Academy and Reviewer of notable accredited journals.
