Mmuoegbulam, Augusta Oluchi is a lecturer in the Department of Microbiology, University of Calabar, Nigeria. She obtained PhD research at Chemical, Biological and Agricultural Pluridisciplinary Research Center (CPQBA), University of Campinas, Brazil. Her specialization is Medical Microbiology and her research interest is in Molecular Epidemiology of Disease Pathogenesis and Antibiotic Resistance. Dr. Augusta has made many international presentations especially in the US and has published a lot of papers both locally and internationally. She has supervised many students and has researched different water samples and antibiotics. She is a recipient of the TETFund research grant award in 2015 which sponsored the Molecular Biology study of her bacterial isolates in Brazil where they were taxonomically identified and phylogenetically classified. She is currently the representative of the Faculty of Biological Sciences to the Faculty of Education. A visiting Research Fellow in Griffith University Queensland Australia.
