Mrs Shamiso Mlambo is an emerging researcher and lecturer in the department of Pharmacology of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Pretoria. Her research is focused on proteomic profiling of wound healing proteins in patients with diabetes, which will aid in development of targeted therapies for diabetic foot ulcers which are known to have impaired healing. Shamiso is the principal author of a health professions education article as well as a wound healing practices article for pharmacists. She has also co-authored four review articles on wounding healing with various collaborators in the wound healing fratenity. To date, Shamiso has supervised five honours students and one masters student.
Mrs Mlambo attained her Masters degree in Pharmacology with distinction, and she was also awarded a 3-year scholarship for her doctoral studies by the National Research Foundation (NRF). She is also registered as a candidate biological scientist with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) and is also a member of the South African Association for Mass Spectrometry (SAAMS).
