Dr. Getachew Mekonnen Mengistie was born and raised in Debre Markos, Ethiopia. After completing his Elementary, Middle, and High School in Debre Markos, He joined Jimma University for my undergraduate program. He graduated with an outstanding result and awarded with postgraduate scholarship and continued my MSc at AAU and graduated with Distinction. Then, Dr. Getachew Mekonnen Mengistie joined Mizan-Tepi university as a lecturer and worked there for a couple of years. He moved to Cape Town to attend The National Astrophysics and Space Science Programme NASSP at the University of Cape Town and later moved to North-West University to Study his PhD. Dr. Getachew Mengistie also completed his postdoc at the Centre for Space Research at the North-West University. Currently, He is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Namibia.
