Brief Biography (English)
Thebe Medupe is an astrophysicist and Full Professor in the Department of Physics at North-West University (NWU). He obtained his PhD in astronomy from the University of Cape Town. He is currently the deputy dean for Assigned Functions at the NWU’s Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences and the chair of the National Astrophysics and Space Science Programme (NASSP) consortium. He is also a member of the National Research Foundation (NRF) Astronomy Advisory Council and a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf). He specialises in the physics of pulsating stars and in the history of Astronomy in Africa.
