Dr Jessica McGuire was born, and raised in Johannesburg. She completed her undergraduate training at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2008. She completed 2 years internship at Addington Hospital in Durban and 1 year of community service at Gordonia Hospital in Uppington. She moved to Cape Town to pursue postgraduate studies in otolaryngology at the University of Cape Town. She graduated in 2017 and started working at Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital in January 2018. She loves children and feels privileged to spend her life trying to better healthcare services for children in the Western Cape. She has a particular passion for ear and hearing health and the importance of improving education in achieving better healthcare.
