Prof Solani David Mathebula is a professor of Optometry at the University of Limpopo, where he teaches Ophthalmic optics, Visual Optics and Binocular Vision and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate students in research projects.
His research interests are in Binocular Vision and Visual Optics. He has and still publishing papers in national and international journals, and has presented papers and posters in national and international academic meetings.
Prof Mathebula is currently serving in the Educational, Clinical and Standard Committee of the SAOA, and is a registered member of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). He wishes and hope optometrists will pride themselves on Optics, which is the therapeutics of Optometry. The innovation in optometry is based on the understanding of optics.
