Prof Materechera soil scientist with over 30 years of professional experience in Australia, Norway, Canada, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and South Africa. At the MSc level, he majored in soil water management including irrigation and hydrology, and at the PhD level, He majored in soil physics and soil management. Prof Materechera has a research background in areas of soil science, agronomy, agroforestry, agricultural water management, indigenous knowledge systems, and tillage. Furthermore, he also attracted research funds from various donors and managed research projects individually and as a team. He interacted with many highly rated scientists throughout the world and established an outstanding publication track. Prof Materechera has excellent communication skills and currently has a “C” rating with the National Research Foundation of South Africa. Recently, he has extended his research and development activities to include Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS).
