Professor Yves Matanga Ngoma is a Research Scientist based in South Africa and an Associate Professor at the Institut Supérieur Pédagogique Technique de Kinshasa (ISPT), DRC. He earned a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Johannesburg (2023). He works on both theoretical and applied research. His work sits at the intersection of global optimisation, artificial intelligence, and systems/control, with applications to engineering design, transportation, decision analytics, healthcare and more. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences on topics such as hybrid PSO–αBB global optimisation for multimodal optimisation and sequential-niching strategies for controller tuning. He regularly reviews for international journals and conferences. Beyond academia, he founded Banso Analytics (Pty) Ltd, where he develops reproducible, public-facing analytical tools.
