Dr Cashandra Mara has been a Lecturer in Business Management at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) since 2011, and holds a PhD in the risk and return on Human Capital Development.
She offers a wealth of experience, a proven success record in education and research, the corporate world and SMME’s. Upon matriculating from a high school for top-performing students in Windhoek, Namibia, she embarked on a 3-year Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Economics.
Dr Mara's work-life started with a career in central banking, after which she went on to life insurance and commercial banking where she complemented full-time work with part-time studies for Honours and Masters Degrees. During this time she recognized her passion for Teaching, a dream that was realized when she joined UJ. Dr Mara is an extrovert who thrives on engagement with people. She is a Nelson Mandela Day, Volunteer and is involved in similar community engagement initiatives. Dr Mara enjoys engaging conversation and believes she has as much to learn as to teach.
