Brief Biography (English)

Dr Brassnavy Manzunzu is a Seismologist with the Council for Geoscience in South Africa. He completed his PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand. His research focus is on Seismic Hazard and Risk related studies and he has authored and co-authored a number of peer-reviewed publications. Dr Manzunzu joined the Zimbabwe Meteorological Services as a Trainee Meteorologist in 2007. In April 2008 he moved to the Seismology section where he began his career as a Trainee Seismologist and rose through the ranks to become the Seismology Manager. In 2012, Dr Manzunzu joined the Council for Geoscience as a Seismic Hazard Scientist. He has worked on several projects on seismic hazards in Africa. Dr Manzunzu has been part of the GEM - sub-Sahara Africa since its inception.
