Brief Biography (English)

Dr David Owino Manoa is a Wildlife Ecologist with 20 years conservation experience. He is the brainchild behind the Amboseli lion project having conceptualised it back in 2006. He studied BSc in wildlife management at Moi University before taking a Masters degree in Environmental Planning & Management at the University of Nairobi. Dr Manoa completed his PhD in Biodiversity & Natural Resources at the University of Nairobi, with support from the Born Free Foundation. Dr Manoa is passionate about working with the communities on evidence-based conservation solutions. He has published several scientific articles on human-wildlife coexistence measures.

My expertise spans ecological and social research, project management, monitoring and evaluation, learning and accountability, collaboration with governments and private stakeholders, community development, and grant applications.
