Professor Lukwikilu Credo Mangayi obtained the DTh in Missiology degree with specialisation in Urban Ministry from the University of South Africa (UNISA), South Africa in February 2017; MTh in Missiology with specialisation in Urban Ministry from the University of South Africa (UNISA), South Africa in September 2003; Licentiate Diploma in Church Leadership from Nehemiah Bible Institute in August 2000, South Africa; Higher Diploma for Educators of Adults from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa in December 1995 and BSc in Rural Development from Institut Superieur de Developpement Rural, Mbeo – Democratic Republic of Congo. He is currently an Associate Professor at the University of South Africa (UNISA), South Africa. He is also affiliated to the University of Pretoria, South Africa as well as the Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa since July 2014 and November 2016 respectively.
Prof Mangayi is the Editor in Chief of Missionalia – Southern African Journal of Missiology, an executive member of the Southern African Missiological Society, member of the International Association of Mission Studies. Project Leader, Principal Researcher and mentor for Meal of Peace Project (i.e. a community engaged project project addressing homelessness in the City of Tshwane) of the University of South Africa (UNISA) College of Human Sciences, council member of the Baptist World Aid and volunteer to various non-profit organisations such as Baptist Mission Department and Deeds of Love Ministries in South Africa.
His main research interests are in Mission and Sustainable community development, Participatory Action Research in Missiology, Mission and education, Transformative urban mission (Focus: Homelessness, poverty and marginalisation, HIV & AIDS prevention and care), Transformative rural mission and Oiko-missiology and local economic development.
Prof Mangayi has published in journals and book chapters, and he also acts as a reviewer to National Research Foundation (NRF) and theological journals such as HTS Theological Studies among others.
