Brief Biography (English)
Dr Lucinda Manda-Taylor is a Senior Lecturer in Bioethics and Social Science at the University of Malawi's College of Medicine. Dr Manda-Taylor's main body of research work straddles bioethics and social science disciplines to create a complementary body of work that empirically assesses the role and potential of grassroots and local stakeholders in shaping health interventions. Her work also raises the concern that healthcare and research ethics applied in the African context should not be imported wholesale from Western traditions but based on local understanding and local values.
