Dr Tebogo Makhubela is a Lecturer in the Department of Geology, University of Johannesburg (UJ), South Africa. He started studying BSc in Geology and Chemistry at UJ in 2009 and continued to complete BSc Honours Geology, MSc in Geology and PhD in Geology by 2019. He became a staff member at UJ when he got appointed as an Assistant Lecturer in 2015 and then got appointed into a Lecturer position in the new Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP) in 2016. Dr Makhubela’s research specializes in using cosmogenic nuclide methods, uranium-thorium-helium dating and argon-argon dating in Quaternary environments and the Earth surface. His research has been mainly in the caves of the Cradle of Humankind UNESCO World Heritage Site, but he is also interested in the application of Earth surface geochemistry in different geologic settings of Africa.
