Professor Rasigan Maharajh is Professor of Public Affairs in the Faculty of Humanities at Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa, and an elected member of the Academy of Science of South Africa. His research focuses on evolutionary political economy, innovation systems, science and technology policy, and sustainable development, with particular attention to inequality and socioeconomic transformation. He holds a PhD from Lund University, Sweden, and previously served as Chief Director of the Institute for Economic Research on Innovation at Tshwane University of Technology, Head of Policy at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, and National Coordinator of South Africa’s Science and Technology Policy Transition Project. He is also an Associate Research Fellow at the Tellus Institute in Boston, a ministerial representative on the Rhodes University Council and a trustee of the Canon Collins Trust. His academic work includes postgraduate supervision, policy engagement and contributions to more than 90 publications, with research presentations in over 45 countries.
