Brief Biography (English)

Dr Sandra Lennox is specialising in the anatomy of charcoal and wood broadly contributes to the research field of biology, natural science and technology when specifically applied to plant geography and the use of plant medicinal properties during the Quaternary Period, in archaeology and palaeontology. Recent research focuses on the interactions of people and plants in the context of vegetation succession from approximately 250 ka to 35 ka in South Africa. Overall, conservation of the environment is the underlying research interest. Thus, botanical training with the focus on the environment combines plant research utilising technology;  light microscopy and biotechnology. Laboratory bench skills enabled the pivot to extract coronavirus for testing in a multi-disciplinary team of a clinical laboratory United Kingdom.
