Prof. Wasiu Agunbiade Lamidi was born in late 1960s in Ileogbo, headquarters of Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State, Nigeria. He attended Luther King's College, Ileogbo for secondary education, then Baptist High School, Iwo, Osun State for Higher School Certificate. He proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State for BSc, MSc, and PhD in Agricultural Engineering where he graduated in 1994, 2005, 2011 respectively. He worked in the Department of Agricultural Education in Osun State College of Education, Ila Orangun, Osun State between 2000 and 2014 where he transferred his services to Osun State University, Osogbo in 2014 to the Department of Agronomy in the Ejigbo campus of Osun State University. His services were transferred to Osogbo campus by Osun State University precisely to the Department of Agricultural Engineering in August 1, 2021 as pioneer Head of Agricultural Engineering Department. Prof. Lamidi held many positions of responsibility, Coordinator of the Department of Agronomy, Acting Head of the Department of Agronomy from 2017-2021 and presently, Acting Head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering of Osun State University. Presently, he is the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Osun State Univerity, Osogbo.
He is a professional Engineer, having registered as member of Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), International Soil and Tillage Research Organization (ISTRO) and registered Engineer by Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Prof. Lamid's research interests are farm structures and environment, livestock housing management, soil and crop environments. He was the Chairman of Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), Osogbo Chapter between 2022 and 2025 and a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), he is an Ex-Officio of the executives of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Osogbo Branch. He is also a fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE). He was the Assistant Secretary of International Soil Tillage Research Organisation (ISTRO), Nigeria Branch, (2022-2025) and currently the National Secretary of the Organisation in NIgeria. He has more than hundred academic publications. He is happily married with children.
