Dr Jörg Lalk is a Registered Professional Electrical Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa. He holds engineering degrees from the Potchefstroom University for CHE (BSc and BEng Hons cum laude), South Africa, the University of Pretoria (MEng), South Africa and Cranfield University (PhD), UK.
Dr Lalk also completed the joint University of South Africa and World Intellectual Property Organization (UNISA/WIPO) Specialisation Programme in Intellectual Property Law cum laude. He is a Founding Member of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) South Africa Chapter, Past-President of the INCOSE South Africa Chapter (2005), a Past INCOSE Associate-Director for Technical Review (2015-2019) and the INCOSE South Africa Chapter President for 2019/20.
He held Senior Management and Systems Engineering positions in defence aerospace and armoured vehicle systems, ICT systems, nuclear energy and business consulting. Dr Lalk is currently with the University of Pretoria’s Graduate School for Technology Management where he focuses on energy systems engineering with a specific focus on techno-economic analysis and the application of novel intelligent Kalman filter techniques in energy planning analysis.
He remains active in the industry as a Systems Engineering and Systems Thinking Consultant.
