Dr. Suresh Babu Naidu, Krishna is presently a Research Fellow in the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Technology (Research & Post Graduate support) at Durban University of Technology, South Africa. He is currently a registered member of the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) as Natural Scientist; Member of Royal Society of South Africa (MRSSAf); South African Society for Microbiology (SASM) and South African Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SASBMB). The current project is "Improving nanoparticle sensitivity for antimicrobial efficacy and augmented drug delivery using selected plant-derived extracts and compounds". The project employ a multi-prolonged approach by integrating cell, animal, and clinical-based studies to rapidly advance our hypothesis.
Dr. Suresh Babu Naidu, Krishna's research Focus includes Nanotechnology is a rapidly growing science of producing and utilizing nano-sized particles. Biosynthetic methods employing either microorganisms or plant extracts have emerged as a simple and viable alternative to chemical synthetic procedures and physical methods. Furthermore, traditional medicines are currently gaining worldwide attention in developing countries as the primary source of treatment. A combined approach of traditional medicine and nanotechnology will be of immense use in the medical field to control diseases and need of the hour in South Africa. Dr. Suresh Naidu, has published more than 36 peer-reviewed research papers in high impact journals (h-index 11; citations 504). Also, Dr. Naidu is Co-PI in a project funded under the "SA UK Antibiotic Accelerator Initiative (NEWTON FUND -2019).
